At this time, the blog is not specifically set up for profit. As a result, WeirdIsTheNewNormal.com cannot pay for articles. The point of this blog is to help share and promote. Links back to your stuff is allowed and strongly encouraged.
Usage Of Information
At this time, any information shared with WeirdIsTheNewNormal.com will be used without compensation of any kind.
By sharing your content with WeirdIsTheNewNormal.com, you agree to allow the use of any words and/or images you provide without ANY compensation. You also agree to allow the information to be edited for length, clarity, and grammar.
Interviews may be used for many purposes including, but not limited to:
- Blog posts
- Other purposes.
Acceptance and Rejection of material
WeirdIsTheNewNormal.com reserves the right to decide which content to post. There are many reasons content may not be accepted which have nothing to do with quality- relevance, engagement, length are just a few of the reasons.
Once your content is accepted, you will receive a tentative post date that will be finalized within 14 days.
Visuals are very important. You are responsible for providing pictures for your submission. Pictures should be clear and of high quality. If you are including photographs for which you do not own full rights to distribute, you must include written permission for WeirdIsTheNewNormal.com to post or the picture will not be posted.
There are no minimum or maximum length requirements. At WeirdIsTheNewNormal.com, we are more concerned about quality. Interview answers should be at least two or three sentences long. General guidelines for article lengths are 750-1000 words and could vary by category.
WeirdIsTheNewNormal.com is a family friendly website. It is a safe space for all ages. Any content that is not family friendly must be CLEARLY marked and may be edited or not posted. No nudity allowed. Excessive cursing is discouraged and may be removed. Articles should be engaging and fun and illustrate the passion behind the product.
Types of Articles
The cohesive nature of this blog is important. Self promotion is encouraged as long as the article itself is valuable to readers. I want to share as many resources as possible, but no one wants to read a sales pitch. Make it fun and interesting.

While link sharing and content dropping is encouraged here, this is more about getting to know YOU. What makes you a Weirdie? The questions are tailored to help showcase your talents while still focusing on you as a person. See these articles as examples http://cosplayideas.net/category/spotlights We are branching out from strictly cosplayer and Cosplay Photographer interviews to interviews with all Weirdies. Artists, Authors, bloggers, podcasters, creative entrepreneurs, geeks, and anyone who feels they are a Weirdie!

Are you attending/did you attend an event that involves Indie creatives that you think would interest our readers? Please share. Spec Fiction or Fan Fic
Please keep submissions between 10-15 pages. This can include: An excerpt of your book provided it can be read as a stand alone- must contain a beginning, middle, and end. You absolutely can include links, but remember it is not an advertisement.
Short stories can be unique or published on other sources, providing you have the right to post it again.
Fan Fiction- As long as you have the rights, it doesn’t have to be exclusive. To submit: Send completed article or story to email@example.com
Must be cosplays you have done or have permission to share. Again, links to your stuff are encouraged, but this article must be stand alone. Must be projects you have done or have permission to share. Again, links to your stuff are encouraged, but this article must be stand alone. These articles can be as long or as short as you would like. They must include one main quote and why you relate to that quote, why that quote resonates with you, and/or the lessons you learned from the quote. Please also include the source of the quote, such as tv show, episode, and character.
