Weirdies Supporting Weirdies!

Cosplayer Spotlight – SpideyWu

Who doesn’t love a Spiderman cosplayer? Well, don’t miss this one!

What is your name?

I go by SpideyWu or just Aaron, A-A-Ron if you want to be funny.

When did you start cosplaying?

I hoped into the cosplay scene in October of 2016, when a few friends of mine decided we wanted to check out a local con and not be average joes walking around.

Who are your cosplay idols?

There are so many big name cosplayers that I admire but to name a few, SonicSpiderman / Ernesto, CosPlayNay / Naiquan , TstunningSpiderman / Tyler Scott Hoover

What types of cosplay do you do?

My speciality are Spider-Man mashups, I basically take characters from anime, video games or even other superhero’s and design them in the image of Spider-Man if he were to be said character.
What is something you want to cosplay but probably never will:
I’d love to do a proper Carnage or Venom cosplay but you’d better be ready to lose your bank account to do it justice.

Do you make, buy, or special order your cosplays?

My Spider-Man suits are special order from a Zentai company called Zentai Zone. Each is made with my personal measurements so they fit like a glove. I do buy and make props for my cosplays when/if they are needed.

Who is your favorite character to cosplay?

Currently my Megaman Spider-Man mashup is the favorite, I just love carrying around a blaster.

If you could live in/visit any fantasy world, where would you go?

The world of One Piece, simply because it’s so vast. So many unique places to visit and adventures to have, plus who wouldn’t want the power of a Devil Fruit.

Where do you get your inspiration for your cosplays?

The drive that started my mashups was seeing SonicSpiderman’s Kingdom Hearts Spider-Man mashup. One look at that and I knew I wanted to do this.

What are your “fandoms”?

I have no personal fandoms but I support fandoms within logical reason.

What tips do you have for other cosplayers?

Captain America said it best “Patience” that’s a big thing with cosplayers, mainly when you are commissioning something from someone or a company, most times they are made to order so you can’t expect things to be done on your time.

What cosplays are you working on?

I currently have a few secret projects but two I plan to do before mid 2018 are Spongebob Spider-Man and Rick, from Rick and Morty, Spider-Man.

Where can people find your cosplays?

You can find my work on instagram @spideywu or my Facebook page, SpideyWu Cosplay.

Please remember I do not own any of these pictures and the opinions in this survey belong to the interviewee.
